Knowledge on sexually transmitted infections among HIV-pre-exposure prophylaxis users in Nairobi city county, Kenya

Background: Sexually transmitted infections remain a significant public health problem mainly in low-income countries. Despite the high efficacy of HIV-PrEP, an upsurge STIs is recorded globally after HIV-PrEP introduction due to sexual behaviour change among users. Nairobi has highest rate uptake and large number users visit facilities get treatment for STIs. This study aimed assess knowledge on Nairobi, Kenya. Methods: Analytical cross-sectional research design was employed. Simple random sampling technique adopted obtain sample size 357 respondents seeking service five from July November 2022. The used primary data which collected using structured questionnaire secondary (laboratory results). Results: Most respondent were knowledgeable about occurrence. 56.7% knew that could be through sex without condom, 43.3% with workers make one STIs, 58.7% aware contact multiple partners. A statistically association found between STI related level prevalence Nairobi. Conclusions: does not translate into safe against recommends facility management providers should encourage undertake routine screening tests as well frequent awareness creation education.
